When reviewers disagree, address both professionally: (1) Acknowledge the divergence explicitly ("We note Reviewer 1 suggested X while Reviewer 2 suggested Y"), (2) Explain your reasoned decision based on evidence, methodological soundness, and alignment with research goals, (3) Defer to editor guidance if provided in decision letter, (4) Make choice transparent with justification. Example: "After considering both perspectives, we expanded the literature review (addressing Reviewer 1) but maintained our original theoretical framework (Reviewer 2's suggestion would require complete redesign beyond scope of this revision)." Editors understand reviewers may disagree - they want to see you carefully considered all feedback, not that you pleased everyone.
