- Which courses are free?
Eight courses on the site are free with no sign-up, and the CHES and MCHES course is free on its own study site. Two Teachable courses are paid.
- Is Subthesis free?
Yes. All 57 tools, the Research Assistant, and the blog are free with no paid tiers. Some books, courses, and services cost money.
- Do I need an account to use Subthesis?
No. Subthesis has no sign-up or login. The tools and the Research Assistant work right away and save your work in your browser.
- Where is my tool data saved?
Most tools save automatically to your browser's IndexedDB storage on your device. Nothing is uploaded to Subthesis.
- How is my course progress saved?
Free course lessons have a Mark lesson complete button. Your progress is saved in your browser only, with no account or server.
- How do I export my tool results?
Use the Export buttons in each tool. Most tools download JSON or text files. Some also offer CSV, print, or copy to clipboard.
- Why did my tool work disappear?
Tool work lives in one browser on one device. Clearing site data, private windows, or a different browser or device can make it seem gone.
- Which browsers work with Subthesis?
The tools work in current browsers that allow site storage. The Research Assistant needs a desktop screen, and its local AI needs WebGPU.
