Veteran-Owned · SDVOSB Pending

Built by Veterans, for the Whole Research Community.

Subthesis was founded by a U.S. veteran. We are pursuing two federal credentials: SDVOSB certification and qualified federal-contractor status, so Chapter 31 / VR&E counselors can authorize our dissertation services for eligible student veterans at no out-of-pocket cost.

Veteran-Owned Business · SDVOSB Pending

Veteran-Owned · SDVOSB Pending

Subthesis is a Veteran-Owned Business. We are currently pursuing Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certification through the U.S. Small Business Administration's Veteran Small Business Certification (VetCert) program.

What SDVOSB Means

A federal certification reserved for small businesses owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans. Once approved, federal agencies can set aside contracts for SDVOSB-certified firms, and many state and private buyers prefer working with certified suppliers.

Our Status

Application in progress with the SBA. We expect to update this page once we have an active certification number. In the meantime, the “SDVOSB Pending” signal you see across the site reflects this active application.

Chapter 31 / VR&E

Chapter 31 (Veteran Readiness and Employment, VR&E) is a VA program that helps eligible service-connected veterans prepare for, find, and keep suitable employment. For veterans pursuing graduate degrees, that can include tuition, books, and authorized supplemental services.

Who qualifies?

Generally, veterans with a VA service-connected disability rating of at least 10% (or 20% with a memorandum rating) and an employment handicap. Final eligibility is always determined by your VR&E counselor.

What services are we pursuing?

Federal-contractor approval to deliver our four dissertation services (Proposal Prep, Data Analysis & Results, Final Polish & Defense, and Monthly Accountability) directly to eligible Chapter 31 students, billed to VR&E.

What can I do today?

If you're a student veteran, email us so we can flag your file once approval completes. If you're a VR&E counselor, reach out about supplier vetting, pricing schedules, and how to refer a student.

Can I purchase now and reimburse later?

We don't recommend that route. VR&E reimbursement is generally available only for services authorized in advance through your counselor. The fastest path is to start the conversation now and book the engagement once approval is in place.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will SDVOSB certification finalize?

We are pending SBA review through the VetCert program. We will update this page once approved with an active certification number.

Do I need to be a service-disabled veteran to work with Subthesis?

No. Anyone can purchase our services today. SDVOSB and Chapter 31 simply expand who can pay (federal agencies, VR&E counselors), they are not gatekeepers for civilian clients.

Can other federal agencies use SDVOSB?

Yes. SDVOSB-certified firms can pursue contracts across federal agencies through set-asides, sole-source awards, and competitive bids.

Does Chapter 31 cover non-veterans?

No. Chapter 31 / VR&E is a benefit for service-connected veterans whom VA has determined eligible. Civilian clients are welcome to purchase our services directly.
