- Where is my tool data saved?
Most tools save automatically to your browser's IndexedDB storage on your device. Nothing is uploaded to Subthesis.
- How do I export my tool results?
Use the Export buttons in each tool. Most tools download JSON or text files. Some also offer CSV, print, or copy to clipboard.
- Why did my tool work disappear?
Tool work lives in one browser on one device. Clearing site data, private windows, or a different browser or device can make it seem gone.
- Are the tools really free?
Yes. All 57 tools are free with no login, trial period, or usage cap. They run in your browser, so there's no server cost per user.
- How do I choose the right tool?
Search the tools page by task, or open the comparison guides for research design, statistics, qualitative work, writing, and dissertations.
- Can I move my tool work to another computer?
Yes, by exporting a JSON file on one computer and importing it on the other, in tools that have an Import button. There's no automatic sync.
