Can I move my tool work to another computer?

Yes, but you move it yourself with a file. Subthesis doesn't sync tool data between computers or browsers, because there are no accounts and your work is saved only in your browser.

Steps

1. On the computer that has your work, open the tool and choose its JSON export button, such as "Export JSON" or "Export to JSON."
2. Move the downloaded file to the other computer, for example with a USB drive, email, or a cloud folder.
3. On the other computer, open the same tool and choose "Import JSON."
4. Select the file. The tool loads your saved entries.

Good to know

• Not every tool has an import option. The Literature Review Matrix does, for example. If a tool only exports, keep the file as a record, since it can't be loaded back in.
• Importing a file replaces or adds to what's in the tool on that computer, depending on the tool. Export the second computer's data first if it has work you want to keep.
• The same steps work for moving between two browsers on one computer.
