How do I delete my data?

Because Subthesis stores your work in your own browser, you delete it from your browser. Subthesis doesn't hold a copy, so there's nothing on our side to erase. Export anything you want to keep first.

Delete one Research Assistant project

1. Open the Research Assistant and choose Projects in the sidebar.
2. Choose the project you want to remove and delete it.
3. In the confirmation, choose Delete Permanently. If you choose Move to Trash instead, the project stays in your browser's trash for 30 days so you can restore it.

Delete everything

Clear the site data for subthesis.com in your browser settings. This removes all tool work, Research Assistant projects, course progress, saved preferences, and the cached AI model. The steps vary by browser, but the option is usually under privacy settings, as "Cookies and site data" or "Manage website data."

1. Open your browser's privacy or site settings.
2. Find subthesis.com in the list of sites that store data.
3. Remove its data.

Clearing all browsing data also works, but it signs you out of other sites too.

Data held by other services

Anything you've emailed to Subthesis stays in our email. To ask for it to be deleted, email angel@subthesis.com. For data held by Amazon, Teachable, YouTube, or Google, use their own privacy tools.
