Week 1 · Adaptive Planning Program
4. Intervention Mapping: Logic Models of the Problem
Before you can solve a problem, you have to understand its mechanics. This lesson utilizes Intervention Mapping to construct a “Logic Model of the Problem”. Distinct from a standard program logic model, this tool forces you to articulate the specific mechanisms of illness: exactly who must do what differently for the health problem to change.
We will identify the specific behavioral and environmental determinants necessary to set clear performance objectives.
Practice quiz
- Question 1How does the lesson distinguish a ‘Logic Model of the Problem’ from a standard program logic model?
- Question 2What two categories of determinants does the lesson say you must identify to set clear performance objectives?
- Reflection 3In Intervention Mapping, what does it mean to write a performance objective, and why does it matter that it specifies ‘who must do what differently’?
