Week 3 · Adaptive Planning Program
14. Journey Mapping
By the end you'll be able to
- Map user journeys across multiple touchpoints
- Identify pain points and moments of truth in health-seeking behavior
- Use journey maps to prioritize intervention targets
Health behaviors do not happen in a vacuum; they occur in a sequence over time. This lesson teaches you to create a Journey Map, visualizing the “Current State” of a persona attempting to engage in a health behavior.
We identify “Pain Points” that serve as barriers and “Moments of Truth” where critical decisions are made, helping you pinpoint exactly where an intervention will have the most impact.
Practice quiz
- Question 1In a Journey Map, what is a ‘Pain Point’?
- Question 2What does the lesson call the moments in a journey where a critical decision is made?
- Reflection 3Why does the lesson emphasize mapping the ‘Current State’ of a persona before designing an intervention?
