Week 6 · Adaptive Planning Program
28. Implementation Mapping and Fidelity
By the end you'll be able to
- Identify key actors in implementation systems
- Design strategies to support adopters, implementers, and maintainers
- Monitor and maintain intervention fidelity during implementation
Agile allows for flexibility, but public health science demands fidelity to the core intervention. This lesson explores Implementation Mapping, specifically identifying the key actors required for success: Adopters who approve, Implementers who deliver, and Maintainers who sustain the program.
We design specific strategies to support each of these actors, ensuring that while the delivery method may adapt, the core effectiveness of the intervention remains intact.
Practice quiz
- Question 1Which trio of actors does Implementation Mapping identify in the lesson?
- Question 2How does the lesson reconcile Agile flexibility with the demand for fidelity?
- Reflection 3Pick one of the three actors (Adopter, Implementer, or Maintainer) and describe a strategy you would design to support them.
